Oracles and Detours,
Espacio 218, Santiago de Chile.
July 20 - August 10, 2024
︎ Performance: “8 of coins”, August 1st 2024
“Through videos that share the experiences lived in recent weeks and objects constructed from elements of mysticism, such as tarot card decks, candles, gems, incense, smudging tools, energy releases, or figures of deities, the artist presents a new imagery that is interwoven with her artistic proposal.
Javiera visually synthesizes what each reading has provided to understand her residency. Concepts like ‘collaboration,’ ‘abundance,’ and ‘expansion’ allow us to reflect on the positive characteristics that the readings offered her, while ‘insecurity,’ ‘anxiety,’ and ‘dispersal’ reveal another facet of the complexities involved in delving into the future.”
-Text written by Seba Calfuqueo and Mariairis Flores.
