 “El cielo es un concepto altamente polisémico. Es una experiencia común, ya que independiente de las lecturas que podamos hacer de los astros o estrellas que lo habitan, todos vemos el mismo sol y nos cobija la misma noche. El cielo es una realidad global, así como el arte es una instancia de circulación planetaria. Venimos de un territorio reconocido mundialmente por tener los cielos más despejados que permiten la
observación del universo, algo de eso nos define también a nosotras.

Para esta instancia presentamos dos proyectos artísticos que reflexionan desde este gran marco que es el cielo. Javiera Gómez, en un límite entre lo objetual y lo escultórico, nos presenta una serie de piezas en cerámica y otra en metal que proponen un imaginario donde lo mágico se cruza con lo estelar. Aquí se da forma a varitas y seres que nos permiten conexiones extra-terrestres. Mientras que Noël Saavedra present “Ex – Caelo”, serie textil que combina la dimensión sensorial y atmosférica del cielo con los relato existentes en torno a los ángeles caídos.”.

“The sky is a highly polysemic concept. It is a shared experience, since regardless of the interpretations we may make of the celestial bodies or stars that inhabit it, we all see the same sun and are sheltered by the same night. The sky is a global reality, just as art is a space of planetary circulation. We come from a territory internationally recognized for
having some of the clearest skies for observing the universe, and something of that also defines us.

For this event, we present two artistic projects that explore the vast expanse of the sky. Javiera Gómez, straddling the line between object art and sculpture, presents a series of ceramic pieces and another in metal that evoke an imaginary world where the magical intersects with the celestial. Here, wands and beings take shape, allowing us to make extraterrestrial connections. Meanwhile, Noël Saavedra presents “Ex – Caelo,” a textile series that combines the
sensory and atmospheric dimensions of the sky with existing narratives surrounding fallen angels.”

 “Amanece de Javiera Gómez y Valentina Díaz es una muestra que explora el linde entre el día y la noche, fenómeno comúnmente asociado al dramatismo del ocaso, símbolo de los finales, pero que en este caso asume su contracara: la versión igualmente transitiva de la luz y la sombra que señala los comienzos y el origen secuencial de todas las cosas. A su vez, es una exposición que pone en evidencia otra frontera crucial para toda creación artística, el diálogo entre la materia plástica y el motivo que representa (...).

Las piezas que conforman la muestra evocan una dimensión ceremonial y contemplativa difícil de clasificar o racionalizar, vinculada eminentemente al acto creativo que las trae a la vida: no es la manifestación mítica que irradia la fe de un credo, sino algo más íntimo y transparente, el tiempo vital esculpido sobre la forma que toman los objetos, las imágenes moldeadas por el instinto y la fijación de dos artistas y su sentido de revelación, a través del acto de hacer presente lo que permanecía suspendido en algún lugar del subconsciente o de gravitaciones aún más desconocidas”.

“Daybreak by Javiera Gómez and Valentina Díaz is an exhibition that explores the boundary between day and night, a phenomenon commonly associated with the drama of sunset—a symbol of endings—but which, in this case, takes on its opposite: the equally transient interplay of light and shadow that signifies beginnings and the sequential origin of all things. At the same time, it is an exhibition that highlights another crucial boundary for all artistic creation: the dialogue between the plastic material and the motif it represents (...).

The pieces that make up the exhibition evoke a ceremonial and contemplative dimension that is difficult to classify or rationalize, linked eminently to the creative act that brings them to life: it is not the mythical manifestation that radiates the faith of a creed, but something more intimate and transparent—the vital time sculpted into the form taken by the objects, the images shaped by the instinct and fixation of two artists and their sense of revelation, through the act of bringing to the present what remained suspended somewhere in the subconscious or in even more unknown realms.”

Serie de pinturas que reflexiona sobre la idea de la belleza y la artificialidad, así como la construcción de ésta, a partir del estudio de diferentes representaciones de figuras antropomorfas y femeninas que son parte de la cultura popular. Si en 2025 los charms se han vuelto signos visibles de identidad y afecto, esta obra retoma la función simbólica del amuleto para colectivizarla. Inspirada en la Battus polydamas psittacus, mariposa endémica que convierte la toxicidad de su alimento en coraza química, la pieza amplifica este lepidóptero como un colgante-amuleto sobredimensionado. Así, transforma la experiencia íntima de protección y autodefinición en un objeto compartido, capaz de resonar con quienes identifican en su trayectoria biológica una metáfora de resistencia, transformación y pertenencia.

If in 2025 charms have become visible signs of identity and affection, this work takes up the symbolic function of the amulet and renders it collective. Inspired by the Battus polydamas psittacus, an endemic butterfly that turns the toxicity of its food into a chemical shield, the piece magnifies this lepidopteran into an oversized pendant-amulet. In doing so, it transforms the intimate experience of protection and self-definition into a shared object, capable of resonating with those who recognize in its biological trajectory a metaphor for resistance, transformation, and belonging.

“(...) como si la artista hubiese decidido llamar a las energías con todas sus fuerzas y guardarlas en contenedores colosales, lo que es inusual y especial, porque históricamente los amuletos han sido siempre objetos que pueden llevarse en el bolsillo, como piedras preciosas o monedas.


El amuleto de la primera foto, ese óvalo que parece un dije antiguo, está hecho de mármol y cera y la artista me dijo que la mariposa que está posada sobre ella, esculpida en un gestito coqueto, como apunto de escapar, simboliza o quiere atraer la renovación, pero yo no dejo de pensar en las contraposiciones: la más obvia es esa mariposita, símbolo de lo efímero, sobre el mármol, que es eterno, pero también está el hecho de que estoy ante un ejemplar de uno de los objetos más antiguos del mundo, un amuleto, hecho a escala gigante, con la textura y el color de un chicle, y sobre él se encuentra tallada una mariposita, no solo símbolo de lo efímero, sino también de la aesthetic girlie y2k”.

"(...) as if the artist had decided to call upon the energies with all her strength and store them in colossal containers, which is unusual and special, because historically amulets have always been objects that can be carried in the pocket, like precious stones or coins.

The amulet in the first photo, that oval that looks like an antique charm, is made of marble and wax and the artist told me that the butterfly that is laying on it, sculpted in a flirtatious gesture, as if about to escape, symbolizes or wants to attract renewal, but I can't stop thinking about the counterpositions: the most obvious is that little butterfly, symbol of the ephemeral, over the marble, which is eternal, but there is also the fact that I am in front of a copy of one of the oldest objects in the world, an amulet, made on a giant scale, with the texture and color of a chewing gum, and on it is carved a little butterfly, not only symbol of the ephemeral, but also of the aesthetic girlie y2k."

Las ménades fueron las ninfas encargadas de criar a Dionisio (conocido como Baco por los romanos), el dios del vino, la locura y la juerga. Además de criarlo, fueron también las primeras en ser poseídas por él y entregarse a sus rituales, en los que se bailaba, tomaba, comía y se entregaba al placer. Han sido representadas históricamente como figuras en movimiento, que portan coronas con hojas de vid, tirsos, pieles y acompañadas de animalitos pequeños que solían ser sacrificados como parte de las ceremonias.


Aquí, se muestra a una ménade en la vitrina del local haciendo un guiño a su nombre, El Parrón. Bajo la parra, representativa de Dionisio, la cortina inaugura un espacio que congrega ménades y humanos que buscan entregarse al encanto dionisiaco.

The maenads were the nymphs in charge of raising Dionysus (known as Bacchus by the Romans), the god of wine, madness and revelry. Besides raising him, they were also the first to be possessed by him and to indulge in his rituals, in which they danced, drank, ate and indulged in pleasure. They have been historically represented as moving figures, wearing crowns with vine leaves, thyrsus, skins and accompanied by small animals that used to be sacrificed as part of the ceremonies.

Here, a maenad is shown in the showcase of the shop, a nod to its name, El Parrón. Under the vine, representative of Dionysus, the curtain inaugurates a space that congregates maenads and humans seeking to surrender to the Dionysian charm.

La suma sacerdotisa (Ram); La luna (Rem); La emperatriz (Kitamura); son una serie de candelabros serializados, realizados en aluminio fundido, que deriva de la investigación realizada en Espacio 218, durante la residencia realizada bajo el proyecto “Oráculos y desvíos”.&#38;nbsp;Una de las aristas de esta investigación implicaba el análisis del universo material de la calle San Antonio, donde se transaccionan diferentes tipos de artefactos esotéricos. De entre ellos, los que llamaron particularmente mi atención, fueron los candelabros e incensarios con formas antropomorfas de deidades de diferentes religiones pues se convierten en receptores de deseos emocionales y espirituales de quienes las veneran. De la misma forma, las waifus -figuras de peronsajes de series de animé- con sus diferentes características físicas y personalidades, se vuelven objetos de adoración a las que prenderle velas, adquiriendo la capacidad de canalizar los deseos y proyecciones de sus shipper.

The High Priestess (Ram); The Moon (Rem); The Empress (Kitamura)&#38;nbsp;are a series of serialized candleholders, made from cast aluminum, which stem from the research conducted at Espacio 218 during the "Oracles and Detours" exhibition and residency. For Feria Aparte, an edition of 2 copies of each candleholder is produced.

One of the key aspects of this research involved analyzing the material universe of San Antonio Street, where various types of esoteric artifacts are traded. Among them, those that particularly caught my attention were the anthropomorphic candleholders and incense burners shaped like deities from different religions, which become vessels for the emotional and spiritual wishes of those who venerate them. Similarly, waifus, with their diverse physical traits and personalities, transform into objects of worship, where candles are lit in their honor, acquiring the power to channel the desires and projections of their shippers.

 “Mediante videos que comparten las experiencias vividas en estas últimas semanas y objetos construidos a partir de elementos propios del misticismo, tales como mazos de cartas del tarot, velas, gemas, inciensos, sahumerios, descargas energéticas o figuras de divinidades, la artista exhibe un nuevo imaginario que está atravesado por su propuesta de obra.
Javiera sintetiza visualmente lo que cada lectura le entregó para comprender su residencia. Conceptos como “colaboración”, “abundancia”, “expansión” nos permiten pensar en las características positivas que las lecturas le entregaron, mientras que “inseguridad”, “ansiedad”, “dispersión” muestran otra arista de las complejidades que tiene adentrarse en el futuro”.&#38;nbsp;

Concepts like ‘collaboration,’ ‘abundance,’ and ‘expansion’ allow us to reflect on the positive characteristics that the readings offered her, while ‘insecurity,’ ‘anxiety,’ and ‘dispersal’ reveal another facet of the complexities involved in delving into the future.”
